Around Kami-Itabashi Station We woke up at 9.15 a.m. and Solomon woke up at almost 11 a.m. It might be we were too tired. We went to the World Expo 2005 Aichi and walked the whole day at the Expo sites. After taking breakfast, we went to Tobu Store. I bought a few pieces of charcoal soap and a piece of scrubbing-towel. We then walked towards Kami-Itabashi Station. Mrs. Toyoda told us that there was also large supermarket around Kami-Itabashi Station the night before yesterday. We took our lunch in a KFC restaurant at 1 p.m. I bought a ballpoint pen refill at a stationery shop. It cost me 400 yen and I paid 420 yen which included the 5% GST (Goods and Services Tax). It was equivalent to 6.50 Singapore Dollars. The living standard is high. We also went to an electrical appliances shop and a large store. We found the "Gameboy" at both of the shops, but they were Japanese versions. We did not buy it. That was what Solomon looking for. He said that we would buy it at the Narita Airport when we were going home. I told him that we should only buy it after he had completed his Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). A Few New Places After walking around at Kami-Itabashi Station, we walked back to the apartment after 4 p.m. When we walked past the Education Science Centre, it was already closed at 4 p.m. We took a few photographs in the Peace Park. We went to a cooked food shop. I bought two boxes of rice that cooked with different types of beans and a vegetable dish for my dinner. Solomon and mama bought meat dumpling, Toufu and rice as their dinner at the Tobu Store. We also bought some foods as our breakfast for tomorrow. We then went to the shopping mall at the second floor. Mama bought a pair of trouser for Solomon. We came to this shop for a few times, but I had not tried to find out whether there was any shirt I liked. Tokiwadai By Night Mrs. Toyoda called us at 8.20 p.m. We would meet at Tokiwadai Station at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Toyoda would bring us for outing. It would be a Sunday tomorrow. Mr. Toyoda would not be working on Sunday. We seldom watched television programmes these few days. We only watched the News occasionally. Solomon started to feel boring at night and asked me to go out for a walk. We went out from around 9.30 to 10.10 p.m. There were a few shops that open for 24 hours, but not many people on the street. We saw some people went to the 24-hour shop to buy their dinner. They might be just back from office. Mrs. Toyoda told us that it was safe in Tokiwadai. There was why we wondered about at the quiet street and did not have any fear or worry. Solomon was very cheerful. He walked and told me stories. We felt that we talked very loud because it was very quiet on the street. We wondered that the Japanese did not talk very loud at home or they were already sleeping. |
