Bintan Lagoon - 10th Anniversary
5 - 7 June 2006

This is the 10th year that we have visitied Bintan Lagoon Resort since March 1996. The service is getting better.

When a group of guests arrived, the drummer will beat the drum to them.

At the same time, the waitress will also serve the welcome drink while the guests are checking in at the counter.

The hotel room

On the first day late afternoon, an incident almost ruined our holiday.

After buying some souvenirs, we went back to the room. When I put the souvenirs on the desk, I incidentally touched the lamp on the wall. It turned upside down and broke into pieces. It sounded like an small explosion. We were initially very stuned and realised the unusual happening only when we saw pieces of glass on the floor.

We called the service department. The staff from the Room Maintainence Department came. I was very sad when he told us that we might have to pay for it. How could the lamp overturn easily when I incidentally touched it? Although we did not need to pay for it finally, it was an unlucky holiday.

After our dinner, a tiny piece of glass was remained on the small desk near the headboard and it poked my index finger. It took me a hard time to take it out.

The Chinese restaurant was closed down about two years ago. We took our meals at the Kopi-O Restaurant. Solomon enjoyed the at the buffet meals very much. I tried to take a little bit of meats in order to make Solomon felt accompanied.

Delicious!

I liked the food!

It was on the second morning. We could not go to the beach. We stayed in the room and watched the television programs.

We went to the Recreation Centre in the afternoon. As it was wet on the road, Solomon did not ride the bicycle which he was very interested in. We played the table soccer game.

In the late afternoon, we went to the beach. We came to Bintan Lagoon many times because we liked the beach. We collected some sea shells. Collecting sea shells and rocks were one of our favourites.

Oh! Old papa, what are you doing?

Be careful, don't fall!

Hurray! I climbed up on to the rocks!

Boy, don't fall into the sea!

The Golf Course
Although we came to Bintan Lagoon very often, we did not play golf. Solomon joined the Golf Academy at Jurong Country Club as a Junior Golf Member three years ago. He attended the golf lesson three to four times a month during those Sundays between January 2003 and April 2005. He stopped playing after the Academy was closed. I am not interested in playing golf, otherwise I could accompany him to play golf when we came to Bintan Lagoon.

We liked to take the transport at the Club House when we were going home. There were not many people taking the land transfer from Club House to Ferry Terminal compared to that from the Hotel.

When we arrived in Bintan Island, the staff of Bintan Lagoon received us at the Ferry Terminal and we went through the Express Check-in at the custom. But we had to queue with many people when we were going home. That was what we felt discouraged to come often.
