Passing by Chaozhou
China, Here We Come (8)

2003 Chinese New Year greetings card from the Government of Jiangdong, Chaozhou

We checked out of Jing Ming Holiday Resorts after breakfast. We would travel to Zhejiang.
I sent a message to Eric Tan. He did not attend the gathering yesterday because he went to visit his Teochew Opera instructors.

Nanfeng sent me his regards when he knew that we were traveling towards Zhejiang.

I was sitting at the rear of the coach and later moved to the seat beside Jun Xiang. He asked me whether I was not feeling well and later asked me to go back to my seat at the rear. He did not look back to see where I could sit. I was rather uncomfortable on the way to Xiamen Airport.

When we reached Chaozhou, I was excited with the familiar scene of the town. I called Lvkissinger. I was here in the summer holidays in 2004 and 2005. I thought of getting off the coach and staying in Chaozhou. I would be able to fly back to Singapore the next day. The owner of the coach from Chaozhou to Xiamen Airport could pick me up in the morning.

We took our lunch at Xiamen Airport restaurant. Some of us would return home, I would visit Zhejiang with the group. Lin Jia said that he would stay in Shantou and return to Singapore in mid-December.

We took the four o'clock flight to Hanzhou. When we checked while departure, the custom checked my hand-held luggage. He took out my Bona-Care Acu-Reflex Pen and wanted to open it. I told him that he should not open it. I asked him to make sure the pen contacted his skin and press the button of the Pen. He got the stimulation and believed that was for health care.

When we arrived at Hanzhou, it was dark although it was only five o'clock. The tourist guide Mr. Shen came and received us.

We stayed in Ramada Hotel. The room was very spacious. But we just stay a night and would check out in the early morning.

Mr. Shen told us that we needed to submit only twenty copies of passports for hotel registration. Yueli asked me to collect passports from twenty persons during dinner. My goodness! I heard Mr. Tay Peng San told Yueli to get three team leaders to collect from their team members. It was more easy and simple. Why overloaded me? No wander I was very frighten to receive Yueli's phone calls nowadays.

Some members went to buy winter clothes. I did not go with them. I ever bought many winter clothes when I visited New Zealand and Taiwan. But I never use them again when I am in Singapore.

It was colder in Zhejiang than in Shantou and Jieyang. I thought of and enjoyed the warm regards under the cold weather.
Nanfeng ever reminded me to bring more warm clothing as it would be deep autumn before I came to China.
The waiters in Shantou hotel took care of me well.
The waiters in Jing Ming Resorts were very considerate.
When I went to the lobby to look for the luggage, the staff asked me where I was going to. She told me that I should put on more clothing. I told her that I just look for my luggage in the lobby. She reminded me that it was cold. I felt very warm with her concern.
It should be God's blessings. There were strangers' love and concern that made me complete my journey with a peaceful mind.
