When we arrived in Jieyang City, a few members went to the RongJiang Theatre to set up the stage. The rest of us went to the Government Office for a welcome meeting. There were two overseas parties at the meeting. Other than our Association and Opera Group, the other party was a business family from Indonesia.

I did not pay attention to the speeches because I had to take pictures. The local Government exchanged souvenirs with the two overseas organisations.

We went to the Rong City in the afternoon. We were received by the Government at the Hua Qiao Secondary School. There was a briefing to introduce the school followed by a tour in the campus.

Musical fountain	at the Rong River

Lin Hong, Jiang Yong and Xue Ze You (林宏 江永 薛泽游>

We were invited to watch the musical fountain at the Rong River started at 8 p.m. It lasted for about 25 minutes. I contacted Lin Hong when we were going back to the hotel.

Lin Hong came to the hotel at about 9.30 p.m. When I opened the door, I was very amused to see the other two guests. They were Jiang Yong and Xue Ze You. I felt extremely flattered.

I ever tried to get in touch with Jiang Yong, but he did not have a mailbox. Therefore I did not inform him for this trip. However, we would have our programmes arranged by the Governments of various cities and might not have free time in meeting friends.

Xue Ze You loved Teochew Opera. He also sang songs which were sung by the famous artist Hong Miao (洪妙). When he first released his album, a number of Teochew Opera fans gave unfair comments. Those were the ugly people who did not sing well and yet tried to look down upon others.

As my roommate Jun Xiang had to perform on stage the next day and to let him rest early, I did not receive the guests in the room. Instead, we went to a coffee house nearby. It was not bright enough for us to take pictures in the coffee house. I thought we would have a chance to take pictures in the theatre the next day.

Three of them said that they would send the bouquets to the theatre the next day. They were very considerate.

They would also arrange a meeting for the friends of Teochew Opera from all over the world to get together the day after tomorrow. By then, our group would be in the holiday resorts in Jiexi. It was quite a distance away from Jieyang City. Besides, I was not sure whether I would have my free time to attend the gathering.

They tried to contact Eric Tan. Eric was one of the Singapore Teochew Opera artists. He was popular in Chaozhou district. I have a special column for him in my Chinese website. Many Eric's fans used to enjoy his singing released in my website.

Jiang Yong invited me to have an interview with the Television in Jieyang. The programme would be broadcast live in the noon time. Qiu Ying from Radio Chaozhou City also invited me to have an interview tomorrow. They tried to promote our show which would be on stage tomorrow night. But I did not have a free hand! Thanks my friends who supported me and provided us the air time. But we missed the very good opportunities. Very sad!

A minister ever told us that we had to get people to watch our show and not just put all effort in rehearsal only. I ever told teacher Hui Zhu that we had to form a team in handling public relations and promotion. I would like to share my experience with the team before my term expired in a year's time.

It was a happy hour to meet friends and talked our hearts.

Xue Ze Yong released his second album. It was a video of his performance. Thank him for giving a copy each to a few group members, Jun Xiang and myself.

Although we would like to carry on our fellowship, they had to send me back to hotel as it was eleven o'clock.
