A Pack of Rice
The Heart

A Catholic Sister came from Bangkok after Chinese New Year. I thought she came to visit Sister Elizabeth and Sister Margaret who stayed in the Hostel of Holy Love Home.

I used to talk to Sister Elizabeth. Usually Sister Margaret would visit the villagers, so we seldom meet.
Sister Elizabeth was taking care of those students in the Hostel. The students stayed far away from the school, so they stayed in the Hostel that was nearer to school. They usually went back home on Saturday afternoon.

I thought the Sister from Bangkok was more senior. She came to visit both Sister Elizabeth and Sister Margaret, at the same time to see their works personally.

On that day, the volunteer teachers and teachers from Holy Love Home had lunch with the Sisters. We sat at the long table. The meal usually was better when there were any visiting guests.

While taking our lunch, Sister Margaret took out a pack of sticky rice and said, "The sticky rice we bought in the market this morning. There was some left. We knew that Teacher David liked to take sticky rice. We brought it here for him."

I was sitting at the left, there were few persons sitting in between me and Sister Margaret. When Sister Margaret passing the pack of rice towards me, I thought it would soon reach me. But no. I looked towards the right and found the pack of rice was right in front of the Principal. The Principal covered the pack of rice with her left hand. I thought the Principal concentrated in talking and forgot to pass the rice over.

But, oh my goodness! Was that the dramatic plot of a movie?
The Principal grasped firmly the rice, crushed it, GONE!
It was only a pack of rice. Both Sisters knew that I like to eat sticky rice. They could not finish it and wished to give it to me.
That was not treasure. It was not the herb for immortality. Why crushed it?

I started with the waiting, then saw the evil palm crushed it. I was very surprised, the very annoyed.

At the moment, whatever good impression I learned from the Internet, whatever praising or flattering I read from Pages all gone.

The Sister from Bangkok looking at me and I looking at her.
God in the Haven, you saw it or not?
