Warmth in Winter
Just in Time

13 January was the first morning I went to the market after arriving in Ban Hin Taek Village of the mountains of Northern Thailand. I put on my Bermuda shorts, singlet, t-shirt and a sweater.

Many hawkers were looking at me. Some of them asked, "Don't you feel cold?"
"A little bit."

It was about 13℃ in the morning. As I had just arrived on the mountains, I was still not adapting to the weather there. Hence, I woke up in the morning and took a hot water shower. Then I went to the market.

For the first few mornings, I was curious the people putting on so much clothing. They put on the thick cotton jackets, covered up the head, nose, ears. Some even put on mask.

Two days later, I read a posting of "Keeping Fit in Winter" on Facebook by Audrey. I then realised that we had to cover ourselves with clothes in the cold weather.

After a few days on the mountains, I was adapted to the weather. Then I started to feel cold as the people there.

Living in Singapore, I never experience the winter. Even if I have to travel to a cold country, it will be only a few days.

I had now had to stay on the mountains for 60 days, I had to take care of keeping warm for myself. But I was not prepared.

I then bought a pair of warm-up pants so as to keep my legs from cold weather. I used a thin scarf to put around my neck. But there was nothing to cover my head, ears, nose. etc. My goodness!
