Dear Mother (13)
Soul Healing

Dear Readers, this series of Soul Healing were written more than 35 years ago. It was when I was in low spirited, struggled for survival or eagerly seek for help, and I wrote to Mother Mary.
If you find the story seemed familiar, please don't assume we are talking about you. Just take it as a story.

Dear Mother,

I have to come and ask for your help again. I joined the new company, S. D. Computer Service, on 15th December 1980. Everything was fine until 2nd April this year. On that day, I had an argument with my senior officer, Miss Irene. She asked me to do work and promised to give me the documentation later. On 2nd April, she knew that I have done the work and she refused to give me the documentation. I told her our work, computer activities, needed to be proper documented. Then she shouted at me. I kept quiet for a week. Until 9th April, she still did not keep the promise. I brought this matter to the Manager, Mr. Kenny, on 9th April. I told him that if I accept work without proper documentation, the Division will face problem when someone else need to do that piece of work months later. The Manager said she helped the company a lot and also mentioned that if any one wants to resign, he would not stop. Mother, as the Manager did not justify the truth, I think of getting a job from other company.

Mother, sometimes people try to take advantage. Since the day I joined this company, I found out nobody like to talk to my senior officer, Miss Irene. Other than work concerned, nobody would go near her. And the computer users from other divisions were unhappy with her. She always shouted at the users through the telephone. I used to talk to her since I joined the company although she did give me wrong instruction and did try to intimidate me. I have stopped talking to her since 2nd April.

Mother, please help me to be more rugged.

Mother, please help my senior officer, Miss Irene, to change her attitude towards the colleagues and the computer users.

Mother, please give wisdom to my Manager, Mr. Kenny.

Mother, I understand that if I leave the company, my Manager will face difficulties in his work. At present, I am helping him to establishing the standard practices and techniques for the Division and these are not easy to be implemented.

Mother, please help me.

Your loving son
