I love tat fig tree very much. When my son was young, he used to appreciate that fig tree with me once when reached the Church. We ever plucked the red figs. But the fruit was not sweet, not nice to eat.

Although the fig was not nice to eat, we still loved the fig tree. The tree was at a corner of the plot with the green leaves and bunches of figs. We were joyful under the tree.

Actually there were two fig trees.
One of them was chopped down in order to give way for the carpark lot. We were very upset when we found out. How many it took to grow such a lovely fig tree? How many additional carpark lots were there? The most could be three only.

When I enjoyed looking at the fig tree and taking pictures that morning, I was deeply sorry for the fig tree chopped years ago.
I then thought of us human being was lack of a grateful heart. We could not live peacefully with the nature.

Recently there was an incident of killing the chickens in Singapore.
There was complaint made to the authority about the crowing of a rooster. Then the chicken family was killed. In the beginning of the year of rooster, the chickens were killed!

That little incident caused a lot of unhappiness.
Nowadays I was not interested to find out the details. Some people made mistakes and just looked for excuses. Common practice!

I was staying in Queenstown, a then new Housing and Development Board residential estate. At the back of our flat, it was Chip Bee Village.
Sometimes when I was writing articles in the early morning, I heard the crowing from the village. It was on a starlit night, the crowing was from far away. I enjoyed that feeling that I could not describe.

Nowadays there are people lack of tolerance!
I read an article on Facebook on the incident. I was glad to see the writer taking up the cudgels for the poor chicken family. Yes, we are staying at the West of Singapore. When the Air force carried out the exercise, the noise of the planes above us. But we took it easy.

Is the crowing of rooster worse than the noise of the airplanes?

As human being, we have to be grateful!
As human being, we have to be tolerant!
As human being, we have to learn to live peacefully with the NATURE!
