Our neighbourhood Residents' Committee (RC) used to organise
a brisk walk on the fourth Sunday of the month.
I always joined the brisk walk with my son when he was young. When he was at Secondary Two, I did not participate regularly anymore. Four years after that, it was on 28th November 2010, I took part at the brisk walk again. When arriving at the RC premises at 7.30 a.m., some of the RC committee members said that they did not see me for a long time. It would be good for me to take up this exercise and to keep fit. We had the warm-up exercise before the 2-kilometer walk.
I walked leisurely and took pictures at the same time. I also talked with some participants on the way. It took me half an hour to complete my journey. Arriving at the RC premises, we were given a face towel, bread and a bottle of water. For those who completed the journey, they were given a chance for lucky draw. Many of us took the brisk walk as a monthly activity. Everybody enjoyed the walk when it was still not that hot. It was also a way of keeping fit. |
