Whatever Will Be, Will Be

When I was 12 years old, a classmate of Primary School said to me, "My dad wishes to include your name in the company."
I answered that I did not have money.
He said, "You don't need to contribute any money. Just add your name in the company. He will give you a big Angbo (money wrapped in the red package) at the end of the year."
I did not promise him.

It was more than 40 years ago. When I visited my parents at the old house. My mother said that my brother came from Johor. He wished that I could apply passports for my parents. He would come and fetch us to his house in Johor when we were free.

I did not understand why my mother mentioned as my brother who was referred to God Yong Siah (吳仰城). She just said that he was the son of Uncle 如思. After visiting the Government Office of Jiangdong City in Chaozhou, China in 2004, I then understood that there were families of different surnames of our relatives.

After applying the passports, brother Yong Siah visited my parents and left his name card. I was glad that we could contact him. But my mother said that the name card was taken away by my sister a few days before I went to the old house.

May be brother Yong Siah keep waiting for our calls!

May be he came to our old house some times later but my parents were not staying there anymore!

And now, my parents have passed away more than 20 years already.

I experienced a few mystery incidents in my life. But I never try to find out the root of the matter. I believe that whatever will be, will be.
