Noi Koon was keen with the Teochew Opera in 1970's. She has since then been learning to perform Teochew Opera despite of the objection from her mother. It was the first step which was troublesome. As what we always that spending ten years in rehearsal in order to put up the one minute performance on stage. There were hardships in learning the art, but it fulfilled oneself after the successful performance. Although there were twists and turns, Noi Koon kept pursuing her interest. She has been constantly moving ahead and recording all the sweet memories. We witnessed the improvement of Noi Koon after the tempering of her skills on stage and the experience through her life. Through many years of performance, she has developed herself into a good actress with the skills in performing different characters. With the natural and unrestrained acting and a sonorous voice, Noi Koon has been popular with the Teochew Opera fan. |
