Honour Your Father and Your Mother
Teochew Folk Songs

These two pieces of Teochew folk songs were written by Pastor Xu Ke-Yuan (许克源). The music was composed by Yang Xiu-Qin (杨秀钦) and sang by Yang Hui-Min (杨蕙敏).

The title of the first song is Cool North Wind and Warm South Wind and the second song Honour Your Father and Your Mother.

Many Chinese misunderstood the piety of Christianity. They thought that once a person was baptised, he would not honour his parents anymore.

The Ten Commandments written in the Bible included the piety. It was written as Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

It is very clear that the teaching is good and correct.
