I posted a question in the Chinese forum to find out the day when
the Spring began in January 2009. I also wished that more people
would also carry out the experiment.
I referred to two copies of lunar calendars and there were two different date
for the day, 3 February and 4 February. But I got the detailed date and time
from one of the reply posting in the forum.
I got ready the eggs in the evening on 3 February and planned to test it
the next day. Around three o'clock in the early morning of 4 February,
I woke up suddenly. When I saw the eggs on the table, I decided to
test it immediately.
Oh dear, the eggs remained in the upright position easily.
I then believed what the saying was true and continued to rise up
more eggs. I also took pictures that I could post them in the forum.
Fifteen minutes after rising up the first egg, it was still remained in the
upright position. It was wonderful.
I posted the pictures in the forum immediately. I then found out there was
a posting I missed. The posting mentioned the actual time for the
day of Spring began on 4 February 2009 at 12:49 a.m. It also mentioned
that eggs could be raised in the upright position only within that few hours.
After posting the pictures, I was tired and went to bed.
When I woke up at 6 a.m., I did the experiment again. It was not
as easy as a few hours ago to rise up the eggs.
After sending my son to school, I went to the market to buy duck eggs.
The seller told me that there was no duck egg available in Singapore.
I needed to get it in the farm in Malaysia.
I reached home at 8 a.m. and I could raise any egg anymore.
I thought it was true that it could only make it within a few hours
when the Spring began.
The actual time for the Spring began in 2009 was on 4 February at
12:49 a.m. I raised the eggs successfully at 3:40 a.m. That was within
three hours. I still could do it at 6:45 a.m. but with more effort.
By 8:00 a.m. I was not able to do it.
The actual time for the Spring began in 2008 was at 18:54 hours and
I did it successfully at 21:23 hours. It was within 3 hours.
The two different versions of the Spring Began in 2009 could be
explained by the time different amongst the different countries.
The time was according to the Beijing Time. If any country's time
is behind the Beijing time by 50 minutes, then the Spring began
on 3 February.
As there was no time different between Beijing and Singapore,
there the time of Spring began would be the same as Beijing.
I would found out the actual time for the Spring begins in 2010.
I would like to get some duck eggs to test if possible.
