The year-end school holidays for Solomon started on
27th October.
We visited Bintan Lagoon Resort on 14th November to 16th November.
It seemed that we have joined the wrong Club.
Whenever we planned to visit the Resort, minor problems
always made us upset before we could enjoy our holiday.
This time, we have to send e-mail to book the guestroom
because the Member's Column of the Resort's website could not accessed.
Although we highlighted in the e-mail that No extra bed needed,
we still received the reply to get an extra bed as Solomon turned 13.
We understood that the Resort took those who are 13 years old and
above as adult, so an extra bed is needed.
Although the Reservation Department showed their concern
on the size of the bed, but we knew that it was still no
need to have an extra bed at this moment.
On the day of departure, we missed the exit when we traveled
along East Coast Parkway towards Chiangi Airport. We then
made an U-turn at Chiangi Airport. Again, we missed the exit
and had to travel to Bedok to make an U-turn.
When we arrive at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, we went to the
Bintan Lagoon Resort counter. We did not see those staff we were familiar
with. When approaching a new staff and asking for our
boarding passes, she directed us to another counter.
Walking across the departure hall, we went to the other counter.
After knowing what we asked for, the staff told us to go
back to the Bintan Lagoon Resort counter.
The new staff was holding our boarding passes and returned
ferry tickets. Oh! My goodness!
The Resort has to put in more effort on training
the front-line staff on handling the reservation
and at the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal counter.
The weather was fine when we arrived on 14th November afternoon.
It was raining on the second day, 15th November. Most of the
time, Solomon played indoor games with mother. When the rain
stopped in the afternoon, Solomon went cycling with mother.
The supervisor of the Kopi-O Restaurant,
Mr Erizal, delighted our trip.
Mr Erizal was working at the Haskell's Cafe where we used to
have our lunch. He recognised us and received us very well
at the Kopi-O Restaurant at our last visit in June this year.
We took our breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Kopi-O Restaurant
during our stay. His friendliness made us feel at home
and made our meal time more joyful.
I observed Mr Erizal taking care of the guests very much.
He welcomed us when we arrived at the restaurant and left us
alone to enjoy our meals after that.
I asked Mr Erizal about their on-going training.
He said that they did come to Singapore and visit
a number of restaurants in Singapore's hotels.
I observed that there were many guests from Korea and
Japan visiting Bintan Lagoon Resort. I hoped that
Mr Erizal and those loyalty restaurant staff may
have an opportunity to visit Korea and Japan.
So that they have opportunities to experience
the diets of Korean and Japanese and provide
flavour Korean and Japanese dishes in the Restaurant.
