On 20 January evening, I went to Clementi Town Secondary School again as I am keen to contribute my time in a few areas of school activities.

While talking to the Principal Mrs Tan, I realised that there was a need to have a person who has some computer knowledge. At the meeting, Mrs Tan shared her experience in dealing with her children. It is good if parents attend the parent support group meeting to share their ideas and experience in dealing with teenagers.

The Chairman of Parent Support Group 2006 was elected. He is Mr Yip Chee Hung, who was the Vice Chairman last year. He shared the objectives of the Parent Support Group. I am pleased that there is a such group in school. It can be a networking for parents to meet parents of other children, so as to understand and monitor their children's behavious. Parents can take the opportunity to have a better understanding of the teachers, and to improve the relationship between them and their children. With the willingness to contribute their expertise, parents can help to improve the school as a better learning environment.

When electing the committee member, I was approached to be the Vice Chairman in the committee. I politely declined it. But I promised the committee that I will assist if they have any problem in matters related to computer knowledge. Other than telling the Principal earlier that I could assist in maintaining the website for the school, I also promise the committee I would help to create a website for the Parent Support Group.

About 25 persons were at the meeting. I wish that parents would come forward and be more active in the Parent Support Group.
