Papa said that he used to send mama
a bouquet to her office at her birthday.
The bouquet was sent
with the sender as "Your secret admirer".
Mama would received it and hide it
under her desk.
She would be the last person to
leave the office that day because
she did not want her colleagues
to see her carrying the bouquet home.
Mama is introvert.
Mama stopped working two months before
I was born. From then, papa used to
bring me to order a birthday cake for mama
before her birthday.
And on her birthday, we would go to
collect the cake and at the same time
buy a bouquet.
Mama always said that it was a waste
to buy the bouquet. But papa still
repeated buying it every year.
Papa told me that I should do so
for my wife in future.
He said that a woman would be happy
if the husband remembered her birthday
and celebrated for her.
I usually choose the cake I like when we go to
order the cake for mama. Last year, I thought we should
have a change, and we ordered a birthday cookie.
On mama's birthday, we went to Jurong Point Shopping Centre
to have our lunch. When we were taking lunch,
papa went to collect the cake
and he bought a bouquet.
When papa came back with the birthday cookie and a bouquet,
he put on the dinning table for mama.
Mama keep saying, "Don't want la! Don't do it again!"
But papa has been doing it
for many years although they are already an old couple.
