Solomon and his school team carried out a short film Pad-O-Drama production
during school vacation in November 2008. They took part in the
Schools Digital Media Awards and won a Platinum Award.
Each team member was awarded with a $100 gift voucher.
Solomon noticed that the loudspeakers I used with my PC were not working
very well. He thought that I should have a pair of good quality loudspeaker
so that I could practise singing my favourable Teochew Opera. He decided
to buy the loudspeaker for me with his $100 voucher.
We went to the International Merchandise Mart (IMM) Shopping Mall
to buy the loudspeakers.
I used to consider the price when I go shopping.
But Solomon used to look at the quality. He usually got the information
and users' feedback of the computer and its accessories from the
Internet before making up his recommendations.
I told him that I need a pair of small size loudspeakers.
We walked around the mall and finally Solomon recommended a pair of
almost-eighty-dollar loudspeakers.
Oh dear, I would not pay so much to get it if I shop alone.
As the balance amount of the gift voucher cannot be refunded and we
have to spend it, I suggested buying a hair dryer for his mother.

Solomon did not like his mother as he was growing up.
He thought mother was long-winded. When he returned home from
school and needed a rest, his mother would keep asking him
to take his meal.
I told him that his mother loved him and took care of him, but
she did not know the better way to love and take care of him.
Solomon once told me an unpleasant experience with his mother.
He told his mother that he would give her a lot of money when
he worked. But his mother did not response with appreciation
and encouragement!
I told him that not to be discouraged by her throwing of cold water on.
Be firm and be positive.
I reminded him what he had learnt from the Bible, "Do not be overcome by evil,
but overcome evil with good."
I shared with him about my story. I did not have the opportunity
to take up formal university studies. I constantly pursued for my goal and
I finally was a consultant of company's president.
Some friends commented that Solomon and I are father and son, as well as
a pair of good close friends. Many of my friends loved to chat with
Solomon. They were amused that he was much more mature that children of
his age. They regarded gaining lot of benefits after talking with him.
I appreciated many of the pictures Solomon took. He picked up
photography as one of his hobbits. I loved photography too when
I was young.
Other than the sort films he took part in production while at
the Primary and Secondary School, he also had experience in
taking video at seminars, wedding parties and concerts.
We love our children. Other than providing butter and bread,
we should also learn to appreciate his strength and give them
encouragement. I did discuss with Solomon on the streaming
affairs when he was at Primary and Secondary schools.
We have to love and respect our children. They will in return
love and respect us, the parents.
