The Mid-Autumn Festival for this year was on 22nd September.
Senior Minister S. Jayakumar launched the Mid-Autumn Festival by the River on 8th September evening. The 15-day festival was held at Clarke Quay of the Singapore River from 8th September to 22nd September. Colourful lanterns lined the river and several were floating in the water. There were song and dance performances, cultural exhibitions, Chinese chess, lantern riddle contests and other interactive games. Several hawkers from Taiwan set up stalls to bring Taiwanese night market favourites to the public. The streets around Chinatown were also lighted with colourful lanterns. |
