We, the volunteers, celebrated the National Day with the elders at
Silver Circle (Taman Jurong) on 5 August morning.
The celebration started at 10 a.m. by singing the Singapore National Anthem
and reciting the National Pledge.
The manager, staff and volunteers then expressed good wishes to the
Country and the elders.
There was a game for three groups of the elders. They had to use the stars
to paste on a piece of paper and form the shape of Singapore map.
Although some of them were not highly educated and they were not aware
how the map of Singapore looks like, they were kin in pasting the stars.
They lived a simple and frugal life when they were young.
They brought up their children. They were the pioneers in developing
our Country. We should remember their contributions when we
enjoy the comfortable life and live in a stable society.
