The Small Country
For the past many years, I visited some of the places of interest
with my family when we had an opportunity. When our overseas friends
visited Singapore, we would bring them to those places of interest
we ever visited. As I was busy at work during those days, I was not
aware of other places in Singapore we could visit. I thought that
Singapore was very small and very boring.
The places of interest we visited were Sentosa Island, Chinese Garden,
Mandai Zoo and Jurong Birdpark.
I was not aware that there were also natural parks that
we could spend many hours there.
Do You Know the Names of the Grass?
I used to bring my son for a stroll when he was young.
As my son was always curious of what he saw, he told
me that there were different types of grass on the field.
When we were walking on the field once, I told him
to watch out for the dropping of cats and dogs on
the field. Instead of watching those animals dropping,
he told me that there were many types of grass.
He walked and pointed to show me, "Look, this type
and that type are different."
Only then, I realised that we were walking on the
field of many different types of grass. I could not
answer to my son the names of the types of grass he saw.
I went to the bookshop and looked for a book
regarding the different types of grass we
saw in Singapore. Then, whenever we walked on the
field, I would bring the book and checked out
the name of the grass we saw.
The Nature
After visiting Sentosa Island for a few times, my son
was not interested to go there anymore. He said that
it looked the same every time he visited.
Then, he asked me to bring him to the parks.
We went to Sembawang Park, Labrador Park, East Coast Park and
Macritchie Treetop Park. And we went to the West Coast
Park very often.
We went to the West Coast Park for many times,
but my son was still very keen to visit it.
Whenever we visited the West Coast Park,
we spent many hours and took many pictures
of the nature.
Oh! The Paradise is within our heart.
